Ketchup.

My hands seem to have recovered nicely, which is a positive thing. And I actually got off my butt and took pictures of FOs that I shot unblocked a couple of weeks ago.

Also, we went to Philly this weekend, which was a blast. I saw the Italian Market there, which is AMAZING and, of course, went to a LYS, (loop, and quite nice). Next trip we're going to see the Mutter. I SWEAR.

We walked past the Philadelphia Magic Garden, which I definitely have to actually go into next time. It was rather mindbogglingly awesome.

Anyway, knitting pix:

Project: Meredith's Propello
Yarn: Rowan Lima

Project: Ella's Second September Circle
Yarn: Schoppel-Wolle Crazy Zauberball

Project: Clapotis
Yarn: Noro Silk Garden

I am not sure what I think of this colorway. No, that's not true. I think it is U-G-L-Y. It ain't got no alibi. It's ugly. I believe I see an overdye in its future.

And I find the pattern, for the record, hecking boring. Although it will make a really beautiful finished object. After I dye the heck out of it.

Also, I got this enormous knee-length hooded sweater coat from a thriftstore last year. It's made from bulky yarn, mohair, cashmere, angora and awesome, and I discovered it is hand made. So I am tearing it apart. It is also filthy. So after I wash the yarn, this too will go straight into the dye bath. And then I shall make something awesome.

That is all for now.

MWAH! (Happy Valentine's Day. Now go tell some yarn how much you love it.)

  2. Love the September Circle! I'm not usually a fan of the Zauberball, but I think that's a perfect pattern/yarn pairing.

So glad your hands feel better! I have some repetitive stress issues, and it sucks. Yuck.

  3. Love the hat - so simple and yet, so pretty. =) And wow, yeah, I think the clapotis could benefit from a dye bath. Awesome find on that sweater! I haven't been so lucky, but then I rarely check thrift stores anymore. Maybe after I move and get settled.

Ok, Virginia, I will consider moving to Philadelphia - I DO need spring :-)
Love the hat, it looks amazing after you blocked it! And the colors in September circle is so beautiful! Lol, I can remember my Clapotis, sooo boring to knit. But you can make it! I didn't - I ripped half way - too boring :-) Life is still busy here, but next weekend we hopefully will be finished with the cabin and we will be back on track :-) AND you must read my blog today - I ACTUALLY MET A MOOSE!!! Awesome experience!

  6. You didn't mention the cheese steak or the prison wall. WTF? After all, what is Philly without cheesesteaks and prisons?
