On the very positive side of things, today at dinner I sat at a table in front of a huge picture window and watched elk cavort across an uninhabited island in the bay. Then we went at bought ice cream and I took the dog down to the beach for a run.
After that I took pictures of the flowers in my mother's front yard:
I have no idea what these flowers are. If anybody is desperate to know, just post a comment and I'll ask my mother.
Also, I got a TON of knitting done on the plane today.

ReplyDeletenot sure on the first--but photo's 2 and 3 are columbine(aka Aqueligia--that's how it's sounds, but i am sure its spelled wrong! from the latin root for eagle!)
ReplyDeleteOn view is the back of the flowers look like doves dropping there head down to drink water --(hence columbine (latin for dove/ also used a term for peacefulness)
the second view is the back of the flowers look like a eagle's talons curled up! (so the flower is a peaceful dove like one, or a it's sharp preditors talons!--talk about different views!
the last looks like a bee balm--but.. (that's just a guess.
I love Oregon. I hope you enjoy your time there, it's a wonderful state!
